Purchased fastest available speed - 10Mbps. Works very well. International web sites are limited to about 3Mbps each, but can run several computers on this concurrently without any loss. No apparent silly proxy interference or hidden web caching. I like it. Finally a decent connection to the world from Manila.
Background: I have had internet accounts with all Manila ISP's - usually the fastest connection I could buy.
Bayantel - (3 times) the absolute worst ISP - they are in bankruptcy protection, and the service is horrible, crippled and terribly slow throttled junk. They have no money for new or enough equipment to do the job, and try to squeeze too many customers in.
SkyCable - (several times) uses Bayantel for its internet - same horrible service as Bayantel.
WiTribe - (1 year) was OK /slow, but went really slow to dead useless in 2012.
SmartBro canopy - (6 years) has always worked well, but only slow speeds available.
Globe DSL - (5 years) Up and down. Globe waits for things to get overloaded before upgrading, so you can get several months of slow. When they are expanding and on new equipment- works great.
