Purchased their advertised 5 Meg Down, 1.5 Meg up package @ 49.95/month and no contract. I have NEVER come close to those speeds. Best ever was 3.5 Meg Down, 910K up. Usual speed is 1.5 - 2 Meg Down, and 810k Up. All-in-all pretty good for just internet use and 2 VoIP lines.
Tried to call tech support to see if they could correct the speed issues. You are asked to leave a message and your call will be returned within 24 hours. I called 2 months ago, still waiting for the call back. But aside from the speed the service is top notch, If you don't need a lot Download speed for P2P or something similar this service crushes Comcast. I was with Comcast for 4 years and was never even close to as happy with them as I am with LP Broadband.

UPDATE:
Well, I've been with them almost a year now (9 months I think). At this point I still stand behind my original review. The service is solid, only one down period for about a half hour. Connection is clean, not throttling, blocking, etc. But still doesn't come close to the advertised speeds, for me though that is ok.

| LPBroadband via Horsetooth node I just had LPBroadBand installed. I now have both LP and Comcast.
The first two days speed was horrible. Tech support said the radios need to be QCed. This one done two days after the install.
The next morning (early) speeds were as advertised. In fact testing using speakeasy chicago speed test gave 7100 down, and 1600 up.
However as people wake up and the node gets busy speeds drop. At 8pm my usual is 800 down, 800 up. I've called tech support as I think it should be better when busy... IE somewhere between 2500 and 5000 would be acceptable.
Like the previous review tech support never answers emails and often takes most of a day or more to call back.
Since I use this for business out of my home I'll have to keep both LP and Comcast for a while as a backup. | |
