    1st setup was fast, only took 5 days from order place till I was up and running, I have relocated and since I relocated I went from 384/128 to 1200/384, the move was flawless. I was 1st given a speed touch home modem but this last month it started to drop sync and feel very hot! So I bought a replacement modem at Frys for $50 wich is the DG834 and that fix my modem problems. Never thought my modem would last 5 1/2 years
    Level 2 support is very helpful at SBC Internet, they realy go out of the way to help you out.

    --UPDATE--
    Well since, SBC beeing over loaded my rate has gone down hill to 500k during peak hours. I would have to say SBC Support has been giving me alot of stress in the last weeks, 1st they did a maint and it was down from 10 am to about 5pm. They didn't notice I was static customer and put me on a PPPoE network, and then they did another maint couple days later and didn't know I had 16 IPs they thought I had 8 IPs and took me down all day.
    and they did a 3rd maint!!!! which gave me new IPs (change IPs on over dozen computers took me over 2hrs) and did not help my slowness, and now they did their 4th maint which got no where, and the tech said she was going to get off the phone and call me back in 15mins, and guess what? been over 2hrs and never herd back, and I try to call her back and found out everyone gone home for the day?! So they left me hanging in the middle of the 4th maint.

    This has been the must stressful time in my life becuase 1st my digital camera breaks, then this DSL issue, and in the middle of the DSL issue my car broke down and ends up to be $5000 to fix, and then my TiVo died and now SBC treats me like crap! :~( all these problems with in 2 weeks.

    ---UPDATE--- SBC Tech Lies to you

    SBC said they going to give me new IPs to move me to a new router, that they claim to me that its not slow, well check this out, my old gateway IP is my 1st hop, no other router:

    This was coming from my new IP on 70.239.233.177 which my old IP was on 68.124.225.174

    If I was off another router then I was before It would be more then one IP hop away, this shows that my new gateway holds the IPs I had before, so SBC has screwed me over BAD!

    So I beleave that all this BS SBC is giving me is to make it look like they are doing something, but more likey they are hiding the fact they over subscribed their network with the $13/month deal and is not spending any money on expanding.

    SBC did another move, and they change my IP agian with out my aproval, and the netblock out of 16 IPs only 1 works. They messed up on the routing.

    SBC is changing my IPs agian. they said the IPs I am on now are no good. This makes the 6th change. Been down for about 24hrs now due to lack of planning on SBC side.

    Due to this I have relocated my mail and DNS server to Las Vegas's sprint network. I already lost loads of mail due to these stupid outages that was caused by human error on SBC side.

    Finaly someone at SBC has brains. Thanks to Toaster on this fourm who is with SBC made this crazy maintiance ticket in to a good ending. Toaster was able to provide me IPs ahead of time, so I was able to put it in before the move, and he made the move happen right on his 1st try! If all the employees was like Toaster here at SBC, the SBC would be a very nice company to deal with.

    No more lags at peak hours Thanks Very Much to Toaster.
