Telocity is a complete blackhole--no information can leave their tech support center.
* 5 email messages to support: 2 autoreplies, 1 support reply, 2 unanswered. * 6 calls to tech support: 2 "We'll call you back" but they never did, 1 conversation, and 3 times I gave up. Avg Waiting Time: 1 hour, 20 minutes.
I ordered service on March 1, 2000, from Brookline, MA (02446). I was going to withhold a review until I had service going, but I've been so frustrated by their tech support I felt compelled to ding them on it.
I won't go into the gory details--they are as boring as being on hold for an hour and a half. Suffice it to say, at 8 weeks, I want more than a blinking "Alert" light on my modem. This would be acceptable if I knew what they were doing on their end...Instead, I get no email response and the waiting times are too long to get through on the telephone.
I'm not sure other DSL companies in the area would do any better, but you might hold off on Telocity until they get their tech support and Northeast presence in order.
