I've been using a couple of User-Mode Linux virtual machines from Redwood Virtual since April 2004 to handle my DNS, web sites and email. For $10/month you get a virtual Linux system with 64MB RAM, 128MB swap, and 2GB disk space, which is ample for djbdns, qmail, and apache2. The systems are connected to the Internet through a 100Mb/s link, and the 100GB bandwidth is generous,
All in all, I am very pleased with the performance and reliability Redwood Virtual offers for $10 per month. With two LVSs on different hosts I cab offer redundant DNS and email services - one needs a reliable infrastructure if one offers computer consultancy services (I've been a self-employed consultant since 1991). The only small gripe I have is that the support team takes their time responding to emails - but there's little need to contact them.
If you're looking for a company that will run your web presence for you, Redwood Virtual isn't the right choice. You get a "naked" Debian system, and root access. If you want a reliable, fast, well-connected virtual Linux system that you can configure as you please, you won't find better value than Redwood Virtual.
