Ok on or about 4-1-2000 i ordered me Fastaccess Dsl in Homestead Florida. Cost: nothing Return: 50 dollars e-cash for Barnes and Nobles. They explained to me that it would take

10 to 12 business days to receive the self install kit.(which by the way was the 3060 pci modem and if you order BSFA have them send you the alcatel external modem with the nic card much much better i think there is a flaw in the 3060 hardware or drivers.)ok 10 days pass nothing yet so i called them they stated that they were havign some trouble with the line testing and set up. so i reminded them they told me 10 to 12 business days they said call back in two days if you have not recieved your kit. so i did. they told me that they had just finished setting up the line for me to use and the kit should be there in 2 days. ok the kit arrived the next day. took me about an 20 mins to install and get running after calling with the regular modem to get account setup and all the jazz i was up and running boy was i have fun for about 3 hours then the problems started!!!. I started losing sync every 15 min to 2 hours and i called and called and called tech support they had me going throught all thier steps after about the 12th time i called i told them i had thier basic system check written down so they stopped asking me all those questions. they scheld. a tech to come out to my house yippie i gonna get this thing fixed. Tuesday the tech comes out to my house and test the lines he get sync everyone in a while. So he installs what i commonly refered to as a HomeRun(nothing more that seperating the lines so you dun have to use the filters). he then replaces the 3060 internal modem with the nic card and the alcatel modem(best). ok he leaves works for a little while then goes down again(on the phone with tech support say they are drawing a ticket for it and someone will get back to me). a week later i call them back and they say ok we are going to fix this problem(i lost sync in a 3 day period 36 times.) he got the DSG on the line and they on 3 way or conference calling tested everything tried to rewire the system on their end and still i was losing sync. So finally the DSG calls the CO and tells them to replace a net card on their end. and from that point on i have had no loss of sync or disconnect for that matter. all these problems are over a one month period. but i am happy with the service provided to me and with the dload speeds. i pay $40.00 a month for my service. and i get on the avg 2.1 mbps on dloads and 256kbps on upload(2.1 mbps= about 512kilobytes per second download.)and(256kbps = about 45kilobytes per upload)mbps for those who do not know is Mega Bits per Second and Kbps is KiloBits per second and . which is tons better than 56k. For the record i had a cable modem servie before dsl and it was always down always slow and did not compare to the speeds i get with dsl. I LOVE MY DSL SERVICE AND WILL NEVER GO BACK TO CABLE OR 56K AGAIN. Also for those otu there that have lots of problems with dsl remember it is still a new service and technology and in most areas it is still growing so if your patient and persistant you will get what you want out of DSL.

Thanks for Listening to This Emergancy Broadcast
