    After deciding to get dsl service, I tried my dialup ISP, Pacbell. No
    luck. Although friends speak well of Pacbell's dsl service and I was happy
    with my dialup service from them, I'm in GTE territory. Called GTE. 30 minutes on the phone giving them my information (3 times as their computer kept
    crashing - not a good sign). Finally they gave me an order number and
    told me it would take 8 to 12 weeks to get me set up. Next day I
    cancelled my order and started looking for someone who could get me
    set up faster. Read the positive reviews of Surfcity here and gave them a
    call. What a difference! Five minutes later my order was in and I had
    a promise of being connected in 2 to 3 weeks. Unfortunately, GTE did me in
    again. The self-installation kit they sent me kept getting "lost." I
    think Rosemary at Surfcity was more upset than me. Finally, after GTE
    shipped their fourth kit, it arrived at my house. The instructions in
    the kit and the e-mailed instructions from Surfcity made hookup a
    breeze. No waiting for the phone guy - I did it myself! Plugged it in
    and have been enjoying the dsl experience with no problems. I can
    unconditionally recommend the folks at Surfcity Networks! A great bunch
    of people who give great service.
