I live in an area serviced by TimeWarner and AT&T. While AT&T does offer U-Verse now, we still have the same copper wire that was extremely unreliable, which is why I switched to TW. The connection does slow down a lot during peak hours, but it's far more reliable and has better speed/pricing to U-Verse.
The $154 price is for phone/internet/digital tv bundle + sports pass + dvr + cablecard.
