Ordered TWC internet over the internet because they are the only ones in Queens NY who offer the cheapest basic service for $20/ month for 10Mbps download and 1Mbps upload. You dont even get that because they have a clause "upto" which means not exactly what they say but UPTO that mark.

I ordered the service as it was free installation, no equipment fees if I use my own modem. The total at time of checkout is $19.99 but they charge your credit card $44.99. When you call them they say that no matter what they charge you $25 equipment deposit fee until the technician comes to your house and check your modem and install and provision your modem. Once they confirm TWC will return $25. This is a straight up fraud for charging customers credit cards for $25 which they have not authorized TWC to. At the time of checkout when it says the total is 19.99 then how can they charge $25? I honestly dont know where to go to file a complaint about this.

So, you get the installation 4 days after you order the internet. The installation guys dont give a damn. They are cared less about drilling holes in your house than finishing the job and get lost. Advice- If some installer shows the attitude tell them to leave. Once you say that they will comply with all your requests.

So, TWC is only good because they are the only ones in NYC who offer the basic internet service so that you have the internet to surf etc. If you need more speed then pay more and if you have to pay more then why not get FiOS.
