My dad got this voip and cancelled his bell home phone and we've been using it for years... In fact he just went and bought some for his other family members (ON HIS CREDIT CARD!) so they can call via voip at a low cost with unlimited usage. Rather than paying around over $25 a month, we're paying roughly $16 dollars a month. UPDATE: It's best if your internet connection is fast enough otherwise quality will suffer. Changed this line - I switched to Teksavvy DSL so the upstream is fast enough for a good quality VOIP. UPDATE2: I'm updating this because it seems that they outsource customer services to those in China sometimes, as iTalkBB is a chinese company. The problem is the privacy concerns due to it being a VOIP rather than a landline and when you utilize Do Not Call and other things to avoid being robocalled, it still happens regardless. VOIP is a double edged sword, while extremely cheap (or even free) to call throughout the world, the same goes the other way around.
