After having At&t dsl crap out on us for awhile, and switching to Charter cable, I went to At&t for wireless internet (It also helped keep my At&t email addresses, as I switched them to my wireless account). While the dsl was bad, At&t 3g is pretty decent!
Iphone gets really bad latency, and 1.2 mBit speeds, but hspa usually gets decent latency (That comes at the price of the 5 gig cap). Hspa is usually the better service, but Iphone 3g is unlimited, so I obviously use it more.
As far as phone service, it's surprisingly one where I hardly ever lose connection. I've had plently of phones lose connection at random times, but this one may lose connection once every couple of months (Although when it does, it can be out for 30 minutes or more)
All in all, a good service, but the cap is really damn low, and the networks are already strained as it is.
UPDATE 7/4/2009: Speeds are great, so I'm upping the value for money. Here are around my peak speeds (Normal speeds are around 1-2.5 megs):
