Value for money:
It did take a while to get everything working (a couple of times I actually decided it wasn't worth the trouble, but I never actually dropped the service). I think I'm glad I stayed with AT&T (don't hear that often, do you?).
I use a Samsung Blackjack II as a backup when my DSL line goes down. The package is 3G, about 700 minutes, unlimited data and texting. It worked great from day 1 for texting and data. But the GPS and data required a phone replacement after about 2 months of hassles. GPS still doesn't work, so I dropped that $10/month feature. Probably would have even if it were working.
After replacing the phone, my Internet connection "just works" and connections are from 1-3 Mbit/sec (very variable) vs. my 1.2 Mbit/sec DSL connection. And two years later, the performance is still just as good! Definitely not too shabby.
