Been on the Deluxe package 1500/256 for awhile now. Mostly stable connection, capped at 768 down. Waiting for the planned speed massage...

UPDATE 1/25 - connection steady when capped @ 768 down. The Official Tech support here at DSLR is great! It's the smartest thing SBC has done! I am not so thrilled about the Yahoo thing though.
I am trying to get on an RT to improve and upgrade my connection, but no luck. It may be due to keeping our ph# when moving. Will update if this gets resolved.

At the end of the first week of 1500/128 basic service things seem to be ok. Self install is easy, the service was up 3 days early, and the Efficient Speedstream 5360 seems to work fine( although it is the oft mentioned evil 060-5360-023 model). I was capped at 192 at first, but thanks to the help I received, the cap was removed. I am getting in the 635/135 range at approx 12650 from the CO, but think I could do a bit better when I upgrade the wiring inside my 73 year old house! I am only connected to my P3-600 Win2K laptop right now, but will have a second pc connected when (this may take a while ; ) ) my GF buys a modern computer (P1-120 at the moment). When/if that happens I will be looking into a small network.
The jury is still out on the Enternet300 PPPoE software, but I guess it's ok for now. The SWBell/Broadjump software installed something called Client Foundation that my free vesion of ZoneAlarm said wanted to access the internet. I am not sure what that is and comments range from evil spy-ware to harmless transmitting of data for diagnosis/troubleshooting. I un-installed it and have had no ill effects.
To sum up...things seem ok for now, but I would like to be getting closer to the 1500 range. I will update with new developements.

    UPDATE RE-Tech Support
I was having sync problems so I decided to call. The first person I spoke with, checked things out and sent me on to ASI. I did not hear back from ASI for 2 days and 2 more calls. ASI finally called, checked me out and dispatched a truck. I figured out the problem was MY wiring before the tech got here, 10 minutes after being dispatched! I explained the situation and he gave me some tips and left. I will not be charged for the call( I think). So my take on Tech Support is that each person I delt with were very nice, as helpful as possible, and in the case of the Tech who arrived at my house, Very Understanding.
