For some reason I don't recall, my wife ordered ATT U-verse for her mother when it first became available in her neighborhood. That installation went well but after a year, they had internet service disconnected. Now my wife has partly moved into her mother's house to take care of her and wants to reinstall internet service.
To make a long story short, she was transferred, hung up on, disconnected, transferred into limbo, order lost, routed to the wrong person, hung up on again over a 4 HOUR PERIOD and has still not gotten service.
This is not unusual. I told her she should never do business with ATT and she didn't listen. To me, this is all the ATT norm. Since she deals with ATT for her business, she remarked that getting ATT service is not that bad. It's when you want to change or add services where they just don't seem to know what to do or how to do it. The initials for that are SNAFU.
