The install went fairly easy, just had to wait to get my line converted back from Cox cable to Bell. My wife convinced me to switch over to cox (saying that they were cheaper than bell overall, we'll we found out different after we started getting the bills) about a year ago, so 3 months ago we switched back to bell (I had DSL with SWBell for 3 years prior without even so much as even a single problem the whole time!!!!)
After switching back we found that we were having a slight issue with speed and a few dropped packets. This turned out to be (after only a couple of tech visit's, and my help to them) that Cox had placed a NEW line TOO close to bell during a horizontal drilling (under their main trunk within one inch of bell's line causing interference on bell's line), once the tech had placed onto a pair that was physically at the top side of the cable, the issue went away and we havn't had a problem since.
Way to go AT&T, I just hope they can get the current problem with the backbone routers resolved quickly.
(Edit) Now been 2.3 years since reviewed last, service has been excellent, except for when the VRAD was placed into service in the neighborhood. Transferred my pair over into it without consideration for my existing ADSL line that was on my POTS line. I was informed by my local tech that this was an issue within the database and had my pair marked wrong and transferred over to the new VRAD when it should have been left alone. I find interesting is that AT&T installed this VRAD 20 months ago, had line trouble 19 months ago (when transferred over incorrectly) and they still do not have service to my address for U-Verse (but the opposing side of my street, whom goes through the same VRAD, according to my local tech, can receive the new service. I find this very interesting as they are physically on a longer loop to the VRAD than I am, and my street is only 1 1/2 blocks long (an L shape). I would love to know which engineer made the decision to block my side of the street when we are on a shorter loop the the other side. Except for trying to get U-Verse service actually installed at my address I have found the ADSL service excellent in nature, but I don't dare talk to tier 1 tech support anymore, as I can tell you exactly what questions they are going to ask, and what my answers will be, before I even pick up the phone.
Now I have tier 2 U-Verse tech support through DSLReports working on trying to resolve my issue with the database error on my address, I might actually get to enjoy VDSL and video for once with double my current internet speed.
One can only hope.
