****UPDATE 4/17/2015****
Sprint bought Clear. Their plan is to end WiMAX service and incorporate the spectrum into Spark, Sprint's LTE offering. I have not received any official notice of an exact date. I've read that November 2015 is the target deadline. Customer support both phone, online, and in various stores are clueless when inquired for details. I haven't found anything remotely equivalent to replace my current setup. ($55, unlimited data, I use 100-200 GB per month on average, moderate speeds of 8/1MBs down/up, mobile hotspot with good coverage along the Northeast Corridor)

If anyone has any suggestions for alternatives, please leave a response.

If someone at Sprint happens upon this post, please locate who's in charge of migrating Clear customers and get a status update on what replacement plans are in the offering . Let them know anecdotally, I've only encountered one employee at the sales/service level with any knowledge about Sprint's WiMAX customers and our impending situation. The information deficit is growing as the expiration clock ticks on. I'm concered of being overlooked as service degrades with each 2100Mhz tower transitioned to LTE.

I feel like an endangered specie, and I hear the faint clattering of chainsaws from somewhere in the distance.

*Original Review*

Using the Clearspot Voyager for wireless broadband for my phone, tablet, and whatever else I feel like connecting. (up to 8 devices)

On average 2-5MB Down 1-3MB Up, bursts between 10-20MB

The network manager site is the best I've ever used. Detailed control, clean interface.

Clear's coverage map is very accuarate. If you're area is well covered and your home/work/etc isn't in a gap, you should definitely try their service. With no contract and a generous return policy there's nothing to lose.

Clear Migration

November 15th is the date I have read for Sprint WIMAX to be shut off nationwide. Its all ready dead in my section of Boston. My Karma wireless hotspot does not get a signal anymore as the tower near me has been converted to LTE fully. There is no official migration to LTE for Clear customers. Sprint will offer their own LTE hotspots with a max of 30 gigs a month of use. I am waiting for my Karma wireless LTE hotspot to ship. I have one from Freedompop that uses LTE. I get 8-9 mbs downloads on that hotspot. The 30 gig Sprint plan is 110 a month. Enjoy the wimax while it lasts

Alternate to Clear

When I contacted Clear about the shutdown of the WiMax service, they offered to connect me with a person from Sprint.
Sprint is offering a device from Netgear that is similar to the Clear Hub for home users which has a $199 price tag on it. And as for my usage a 6 gig/mo. plan at $54 per month
