I was initially iffy about getting cable Internet, due to my previous reliability issues with it. Fortunately, the Robbers contractor who did the install did something that 15-20 previous contractors didn't bother to do - fix my intermittent connectivity issue (caused by lack of grounding and lack of a proper box). I'm currently with the Extreme package ($42.95+HST for 15/1/300). It was initially capped at 200GB, but we got a freebie 100GB increase. I'm getting what I'm paying for, so no complaints in that department. Speed Boost also works on the cheaper 51xx MDM. The only issues I ever had with their service were caused by Robbers techs (one no-show and once they disconnected my cable Internet service when they were only supposed to disconnect cable TV). It looks like a pretty standard thing they do to discourage cord-cutting. They were very slow to reconnect it. Unlike some competitors, they have pretty solid backhauls, so I haven't experienced any slowdowns that I've heard complaints about. Their tech support has become pretty slow to respond, but fortunately, with cable, you won't really need to use it once you're up and running. Once the service is up and running and you keep the Robbers techs away from the premises (unless CLOSELY supervised), you'll be getting superb service. member for 14.1 years, 4231 visits, last login: 36 days ago lodged 12.9 years ago |
