I would start this review by saying that I really want TSI to be a good service provider and would like to give them a stellar review but I can not.
No problems with the install but had Rogers cable before.
Modem was a Surfboard DOCSIS 2 model and I Now have DOCSSI 3 modem also Surfboard
Main complaints
1) They are going through growing pains and they are sharing these pains with there customers. So the good serv ice that was the bedrock of their reputation, has not been that in my good experience. My email of a week ago has not had a response beyond the we will contact you in 24 hours. It is now not but more than 7 days later. TSI reps on this forum tell us TSI is trying to fix things but these platitudes have a very short shelf life . I am a customer of TSI not a partner and I want to be treated like a valued customer not someone who will stay b/c I do not have any choice. Experince has taught me that this is the modus operandi of Bell and Rogers. For any TSI reading this the ticket number is TSI#000066916.
2) The nightly slow downs are very annnoying they have at time made my service unusable at times. I use video skype in the evenings and have found it laggy with slow internet speed. Last night my speed was down to under 900 kbs it was useless and a far cry from the 15 mbs I am supposed to get. On a regular basis my daytime service tends to come in at around 7mbs with my up be consistently at the 1mbs range. In the evening it drops down to around 3 to 5 range or occaisionally below the 1mbs while my upload is consistently good. This is with a Docsis 3 modem. I understand that speeds are supposed to increase to 24/1 all I can say is seeing is believing.
Bottom line I will not jump ship yet ; but they are fast eroding any goodwill I feel towards them.

As you can see the speed drops off the cliff in the eveniing. TSI is promising the upgrades will be done this week. All I can say is seeing is believing. Still have not recieved a response to my email to support TSI#000066916. So once they actually fix the POI and deal with the nightly sowdowns it should be a fantastic service. Till then I would stay away. Unless of course you are a masochist in which case dive right in
Sept 28 2011 Yorkmills has been updated and I am getting good speeds when directly conected to my modem and about 20/1 on my wifi conection. Now the we will take some time to see how consistent thngs are but right now I am happy with my speeed
Sept 29 2011 Have updated my review to reflect the speed increase, however will have to see an improvement in service before I can rate that more highly.
