I've been on Teksavvy now for a week for cable and I absolutely love it. I live in the beaches in Toronto and originally about 4 years ago we had Rogers cable. I was hesitant as when I lived downtown cable was insanely slow. The cable connection ran great for about 8 months until it dropped to dial up speeds for about 2 months. Rogers wouldn't do anything except tell me it's a network issue affecting my area with no ETA for a fix so I cancelled it and went to Bell.
Was always happy with Bell and a year ago got FibeTV and Internet. Had 25MBps service for a few months as I was on a trial then switched to 12Mbps and it ran great as well. After my 1 year ended when I started paying my normal price, that's when I realized how expensive it actually was. I had an insurance pack to get 40GB more data and was paying $66 a month with tax for 12/1 with 90GB download! That's when I had enough and ordered Teksavvy.
I bought a Motorola SB6120 I believe it is as I was told this was one of the best modems, got it for $95 online. I placed my order and the install date was exactly 7 days after my order date in the morning. The day before the order Rogers called to say they were coming the next day between 8-11. Next day they show up at literally 10:55, typical Rogers. All he did was connect the cable outside and did a quick test and told me he wouldn't touch my modem that it's 3rd party. He also made some weird comment about if you drive on the highway you better know how to drive!
Anyway that night I plugged the modem in and it got sync immediately. This was during that DHCP issue though so I wasn't able to go online all night. Called tech support and also posted on here and a senior tech called me the next day, said he would call me at 3:30 when I'm home from work to check it out. I got home at 3 but no one ever called me. Was fine though as my modem was connected and has been ever since.
I have the 24/1 plan and always get full speed. Just downloaded a torrent right now at 2.98MB/s and it's 5:30pm on a week night. Never seen the speed drop even during peak times. For $42.95 for 300GB it's insane, I download all my favourite movies and shows off Netflix and don't even have to worry. I've used 50GB in a week alone so far and couldn't be happier.
The only reason I rated install coordination 75% is because I'm technical and it was fine for me but I think my parents would be confused. First off, I'm technical so I know they use Rogers for Internet. However if someone didn't know that it might seem weird that Rogers is calling saying they're coming out to install internet. Also it would have been nice to have maybe an email or something that explains everything such as saying Rogers will come out, once they leave plug in your modem, wait for the light to come on etc. Just something detailing more what the process is.

said by connor97 :Agree with you. Teksavvy could have easily done a script for the sales and tech rep to inform new customers during the registration process. An email would be also helpful. I hope they take your suggestion. I just registered with them 3 days ago and awaiting for the "Rogers" installation.
