I've been with Teksavvy for about 15 months now, and all was great. I was getting OVER advertised speeds. I was on the old 28/1 plan that doesn't exist anymore, and it was more like 35/1. It always worked, I never experienced slowdowns due to congestion, and it was never offline.

Come summer 2013 and everything just went to hell. Constant outages in June due to workers digging up cable nodes around the street without any warning from Roger's there would be maintenance work done. I realize this is completely out of Teksavvy's control but it happened, so I'm reporting it. In the span of two weeks in June I lost connection for half of that time.

On august 6th, I woke up to a completely dead connection, which didn't come back for nearly 36 hours. I called in to tech support, and was told there is an issue with the signal coming into my house, okay fine, and my connection is likely to die again before it's fixed (And it has, trust me). So Teksavvy put in a ticket for Roger's to send a tech out to fix the problem. It is now August 19th, and not a technician in sight. Since August 2nd I've had internet for 6 days out of the 14.. This is completely unacceptable, but there's no other ISP worth going to in Ontario. I completely understand it's not Teksavvy's fault, and it's the fault of Rogers and their bullcrap. Teksavvy has been nothing but helpful and friendly during this situation, however my connection problems have been going on for two weeks now and no solution.

Be weary of that. If there's ever an issue that requires a technician visit you are going to be waiting until you turn gray. When it works though, it's the best damn internet provider in the country, can't beat those prices.

**Update: August 22nd**

Still waiting for a technician... still waiting for my signaling issues to be resolved. We're about to hit 3 weeks with absolutely no tech support what so ever. Not really sure what to make of this. I'm not just writing this to bad mouth a company, I think people deserve to know. Roger's answered Teksavvy's ticket with a simple "we see the customers modem online, tell them to check their connection" And the ticket was closed without a tech being sent out, and I now have to wait -again-, probably a couple of weeks, for a tech to show up. Unacceptable. At this point I wouldn't recommend any of my friends or family switch to this ISP.

Review

Hello Robert and Heather,

Thank you for this review!! I’m glad you have been enjoying the service prior to this month when you have had some service issues. In regards to the vendor delays that are stopping a fix with your connection currently. We certainly do apologize for that; we are working diligently to have a response for all of our customers that are currently delayed. In regards to your service issue; I actually have just updated your Direct Post »TekSavvy Direct with a response back from our vendor regarding your service issue. If you could have a look and get back to me on your connection; that would be fantastic! To be honest this is the first time we have had such a delay with our vendors, generally we have responses within 48 hours of requesting a solution. Things are starting to get back to normal for us now however there is a little bit of a delay currently still. As soon as this is resolved for you, I expect you will be enjoying your TekSavvy service once again with no issues.

Thank you again for this review. Please keep us posted on your connection and your TekSavvy Journey!

Thanks again

Teksavvy

I just read the review here and I got to tell you that I could have sworn I wrote it. I have been offline now for 11 days. All I get is, we are trying our best. Teksavvy is great for a casual user, emails and looking up recipes but if you are a power user and just can't handle being offline go somewhere else.
