Whistlephone allows calls to the US from anywhere, for free. The catch is a 15-second ad before the call connects. That does not bother me since it is free and since the sound on a couple of long calls, is excellent - no echo or latency; no dropouts or pops or crackles. Two very good connections on two calls.
They supposedly give you a DID when you sign up - I let them pick one for me since I do not need another one. The DID does not work, but who cares?
If their ads can make them money, this may be a keeper; otherwise, I'll use it while it is around.
