A tech failed to show up in July, 2013 Unable to get FTTH during summer :( VTel suspected of having secret throttling

Value for money:

I finally got the FTTH installed on November 26, 2013. I said goodbye to the ADSL2+ on that day.

The ONT (IIRC) was installed during summer, 2012. Fiber cabling was being ran behind the property on March 2, 2012.

In July, 2013, I got a call from VTel saying that I can schedule an appointment for FTTH!

Bad experiences:

But a tech failed to show up in July. Why? The landlord didn't prohibit installation, so I was confused! The landlord doesn't prohibit VTel techs from entering the property.
The landlord usually won't even give a squeak!

So, I felt like I was going to get blown off again during the week before the installation! When calling to schedule an appointment for FTTH, when being transferred to another caller, the call unexpectedly got terminated probably at least 3 times. I had to keep calling back.

---------------

Quirks:

Speedtest.net results are all over the place! I don't even know if the Duke University Speedtest.net mirror is correct, even though that's supposed to be the correct speed range!

Most struggle to give more than 100 Mb down.

So I had to do a gazillion download tests and it's rare to get more than roughly 200 Mb down.

Update on June 6, 2014:

Suspect BitTorrent getting throttled! The upload speed for a 100 percent legal file was crawling at speeds not much higher than with DSL, if at all!

I can upload to YouTube faster than with BitTorrent!

Update on July 25, 2015:

Broken DNS server! With VTel's DNS server, avengerforumz.com can't be found!
