When I first signed up with Distributel Cable service in December 2011 I was on the 24/1 package at $49.95. I purchased the Thomson DCM475 from Distributel and the modem was delivered quickly showing up well in advance of my service activation date. When the Rogers cable tech showed up to install the service he tested the signal strength on the existing cable line and confirmed it was fine for internet service and called in to have the service activated while he was there. Within minutes the connection was up and running at the subscribed speeds. From the beginning the service was fast and stable at all times of the day and consistently testing at the 24Mbps speed. In July 2013 when Distributel brought out their 35/3 offering I upgraded to the new package at $59.95. Rogers was pretty slow processing the profile upgrade, it took 16 days, but once the change went through the new speeds were just as reliable as the previous package. Fast forward again to June 2014 and Distributel just introduced the new Rogers cable speeds including 30/5 and 60/10. I was quick to opt-in to the new 60/10 package at $79.95 and the new profile was active 12 days this time. But again, other than the extended activation time for the new profile everything went smooth as could be hoped for. The service easily tests at 60/10 with consistency on multiple speedtest servers. In the just over 2.5 years I've been with Distributel I've only been down a couple of times, once for just over 2 hours and the other time was just about 6 hours. Admittedly the phone support wait times can be long but usually if your calling about a problem chances are you aren't the only one affected. Overall the experience has been enjoyable, the service has been reliable, consistent and even though in some months my usage has topped 1TB I've never heard a peep from them. Sure I pay $30 more a month than when I first signed up but that has been my choice and my speeds are now almost 3 times what they were at the beginning for downloads and 10x for the upload speed. A great service and my highest possible recommendation.

This company is awsful !

It charged us for a month and a half and our home phone does not even work. I kid you know the worst service and I had to deal with the most passive aggressive bitch. She latterly made no sense and refused to even help us understand why they were charging us for service that doesn't work. What ever you do please do not go with this company.

Re: This company is awsful !

True. Stay away from Distributel. Wait time minimum 45 minutes. Distributel by itself is bad, and rogers by itself is bad. Put them together and you get awful service.
I have internet on cable with distributel, with rogers the carrier. Rogers is cable TV provider. I called Rogers with a request to disconnect my cable TV, with specific instructions not to affect my cable internet. This morning, Rogers disconnected my cable TV And my internet. Called Distributel, and get this, Distributel wanted me to pay for a full activation.
