Blazing fast, overnight uncapped zone, throttle is tolerable
Very low data caps, high price for service, high price for extra data
A worthy contender against 3G and also slower WISP & DSL services

Due to local geography and being in a mostly rural area I'm confined to only satellite and dialup as internet options. I used dialup for years over a second phone line, but when I read about the Exede service I jumped at it, as it seemed to be more worth it than the current satellite options had been. And it's been awesome, with a few caveats.

The service is extremely fast, you can do pretty much anything short of FPS gaming (due to satellite's famed high latency issue). Even things that you would think require a little less latency such as video/voice chatting work fine over it. Connection reliability is good, it takes a pretty heavy rain to knock out the signal.

Pretty much the only con about it has to do with the way the service is priced and the size of the caps. The biggest base pool is 25gb(Which costs a whopping $130), and you have to pay $10 per extra gigabyte if you wish to buy more. However... you are limited to buying only 9 extra gigabytes of data over any cap.

The only thing that makes these caps workable is the tolerable throttle speed (the "slowed speed" seems to be about 1mbps.) and the overnight uncapped period from 12am to 5am.

Overall, it's a pretty good service. I'd recommend it over Hughes' new Gen4 system, due to better data consumption policies. (I know, it's hard to believe what I just described is superior to anything, lol)
