I trialed Voipfone's VoIP service for three weeks between London and Tokyo. Their customer service was very fast and reliable but unfortunately their product wasn't. After consistently losing registration for several days I eventually narrowed down the cause of the problem to the Voipfone service itself.

I sent logs to the developer of the VoIP App I was using and he immediately saw irregular responses in their server replies that he believed would cause loss of registration. At the same time I was using Voipfone I also trialed Localphone via the same software and connection and had no problems.

Their website is possibly the worst part of the service, very badly organized and difficult to find information, I often found myself going round in circles ended up where I started. Voipfone's call quality was variable, at times it was excellent and at times it was mediocre with frequent dropping of sound both ways. They do not support the G.729 codec and have no plans to do so, that may or may not affect you.

Overall I was sorry to leave them as they could have been a good provider with some effort but the frequent disconnects couple with the complete lack of any will to investigate the matter rendered them unusable in my case.
