(ratings match consensus)

Been on Sympatico HSE for over 2 years and I really like it.

Very good, consistent speeds. (1430/320 kbps)

Very reliable - only had a couple of outages so far.

Dealing with customer service has been good - once got a refund for incorrect charges without any problem

Recently switched to the HSE/Long Distance Bundle and am very happy as now I get everything on one bill and 120 minutes of free long distance a month.

Update: Bell Sympatico HSE now has improved speed (up to 1500/320) and unlimited bandwidth, which makes for an even better value

Update: In Jan/04 speeds were increased again (up to 3000/800)

The speed is faster and the service is still very reliable.

The HSE/Long Distance Bundle is no longer offered, but I am "grandfathered" for now.

Update : Sept. 14/07 - Still going strong after 7 years.

I am off the defunct HSE/Long Distance Bundle now as it is no longer a value.

The original Alcatel Speed Touch Home modem has now been replaced with a SpeedStream 5200.

I am stuck on the 3008/800 profile due to distance and I have had connection problems. But the problems were resolved with good tech support.

    Everything is still acceptable.

    Update - Nov 4/07

I have continued to have connection problems and as a result I have now switched to Cogeco Cable.

    Update - Dec 8/07

    Worst Internet Service Provider!

Nothing else to say, if you want a solid connection with the best around then you can't go wrong with Videotron.

    Re: Worst Internet Service Provider!

BS! Videotron is insanely expensive and their caps are pathetic. In fact their extreme tier is now capped at 100GB. For the price they ask for, it's pure robbery.

    What kinda rating is that!

Yet you GIVE THEM that RATING for service, value for the money, and the rest of it???

    pls re-review.
