I have absolutely NO regrets about leaving Bell Sympatico!
Update. Sympatico after care sucks! Having given notice on 1st February for termination on 1st March, Sympatico insisted that my notice started on 1st March for termination on 30th March. Despite having the Agents ref who took the cancellation, they stated that I had to give 30 days notice! The online forms were continuously returned to me stating that they could not find my account as I was not using a Sympatico e-mail account and to go to a link.. which took me to the page I had filled in previously. BAD.
Despite Bell confirming that I had cancelled my services (and their aftersales was excellent, responding to my other e-mail address, confirming that an error had been made and stating that they would send me a final account and to ignore any bills....) Sympatico apparently are a different "section" and Bell could not help me resolve this issue! T
Sympatico should ensure that e-mails are read in intirety by their customer service staff instead of giving stock answers - if they had read them they would have seen all the details they had asked for. Sympatico should stop the automated responses for non sympatico e-mail addresses, which is infuriating to receive time after time when you use their online contact us forms.
Thanks to some very helpful advice which was sent by a forum member (THANK YOU!!) this issue was rectified.

I have now left Sympatico for good, have moved to Mountain Cable and loving it.

Previously.....
I was one of many selected to test the new Sympatico High Speed Unplugged. I received the modem within 3 business days (it would have been 2 but Canada Post will not walk up one flight of stairs). Set up was very easy and I received a courtesy call from the agency running the testing to ensure I had all the necessary information.
Speeds so far seem to be reasonable, bearing in mind the limitations of a maximum of 3mb and I have had no problem connecting to any web site etc.
One week on and I have to admit that I am impressed with this modem and service. I have yet to lose my connection and have 5 lights continuously on, with no dropping or errors that I can see. (I would like an interface for this modem though, so that I can actually check my stats - if anyone knows of one, please let me know). Even though the maximum speed is supposed to be 3mbps I seem to be exceeding this, and more strangely it actually seems faster than my Ultra DSL - whether because there is a lack of interference or what I am not sure. All I can say is I am seriously contemplating ditching the DSL service in July.
December now - I stopped using the Unplugged for a while as I kept losing my connection. However, I have now completed the test and have been offered a very good deal to continue with Unplugged.
I am seriously considering ditching Bell/Sympatico as my provider as I can get a much cheaper deal (bundle) with Mountain Cablevision (a local cable company).
I guess it's decision time!
