    1) too expensive for what you get. better value and support elsewhere from other companies.

    2) pray you dont have technical problems because support is very bad. it is nightmarish to put it plainly. 1st level support is done by persons with no real knowledge of IP protocol or dsl service. They just follow script blindly. wait time to talk to a person is long.

    3) pray you dont have billing problems because again support is likely to give you stress or heart related complications. Reps will lie to you systematically in order to make a sale or get you into a contract with a cap. Record everything that is said on the phone.

    4) introduced bandwidth caps with high overusage rates compared to the competition

    5) Throttling its customers based on protocols (p2p and bittorrent) using deep packet inspection methods. The worst is this throttling is affecting all kinds of protocols (VPN etc) and basically depending on your luck of the day, your connection can slow down to a crawl.

    Also this is based on a very vague timeframe so customers dont know for sure when the throttling is being enforced and therefore cannot plan beforehand.

    6) Acted in an illegal and anti-competitive fashion by extending the throttling policy to all their DSL resellers such as Teksavvy and others. And they did this behind everybody's back without the courtesy to even notify their DSL resellers. This is basically a direct attack on the principle of net neutrality in an attempt to neutralize their competitors by leveling the service offers that these resellers can use to distinguish themselves from the generic and poor Bell Sympatico DSL service. This has lasting future consequences for every user of the internet in Canada.

    I have been a customer of Bell for more than 5-6 years. In a space of about 12 months and because of these new policies, I have gone from the typical satisfied customer to one willing to write this review and to cancel all my Bell services (including my landline phone) so that no more of my money is subsidizing this kind of a company.

    For all these reasons, I wish I could give a lower grade than 1 .... Now ask yourself if you really want to subscibe or stay as a customer with such a mismanaged company. And ask yourself what kind of internet your children will inherit if you put up with it.

    Don't forget the Bittorrent throttling ! There is absolutely no reason to stick with Sympatico anymore.

    What Customer Service

    It is next to impossible to get any customer service. You wait forever when you do call. They are providing totally unacceptable customer service. Clearly they just don't care.
