I have been a Sympatico subscriber since 1999. I have only good things to say about the quality, availability and performance of this service. Speeds (up/down) are at the top of the spectrum for my profile just about anywhere in North America. The up-time over this period would put to shame even a well-configure linux machine. It's that good.
The reasonable (line) distance from the CO (ATT of 40) along with a reasonably good SNR (12.5) allows fastpath, which gives this connection a lot more bang in the form of lower latency. On average 4ms on the first 4 or 5 hops. If gaming is important to you, this is the way to go. I am completely satisfied with this service.
On the other hand, dealing with Sympatico's technical support can be a frustrating experience lately.
»Re: Total BS from BS!
But, the initiative undertaken by concerned Sympatico employees (experts in their respective fields) to offer a one-on-one troubleshooting session (via these forums) for subscribers that have not obtained satisfaction through normal support channels the first time around, is an initiative that merits our support. I rate them at 5+, no less.
My thanks go out to the "techs" manning the "Sympatico-Direct" forums, here at DSLReports. This is what support should be all about. Congratulations for a job very well done indeed.
