I hope some bell rep, or someone that works for the company reads this and is able to understand the impact of not living up to your end of a contract and the affects it will have in regards to the rest of the services you offer (phone and TV).
A few days ago I fell victim to Bells new "we can break a contract but you (the customer) has to live up to your end of the contract.
In Feburary I was looking to get internet, phone and TV with either cogeco or bell. I made it extremely clear at the time that my decision of choosing a provider was soly based on UNLIMITED HICHSPEED internet. Everything else (TV and phone) were secondary.
I was offered the 34.95 unlimited high speed plan available if you only sign a one year contract.
From day one I spent hours dealing with bell as their in-competent employees couldn't getting anything right with the services I actually ordered and what I was being charged for. It literally took 6 month's and about 10-12 hrs (total) of calling the month after month in order for them to finally get the bill correct and my services correct.
Finally last month I was able to enjoy ONE single correct bill where I could simply pay it and not have to call in and spend my valuable free time making them correct their mistakes.
Unfortunately it was short lived as this month I receive an extra 30.00 "internet usage" fee. How the heck do I get a usage fee when I have UNLIMITED?!!!!
I spent more of my free time to once again call bell and have them correct this mistake... "no problem, you are back on the 34.95 unlimited plan" I was told.
As soon as the problem was corrected I instantly started to get download speeds of 30kbps! which is slower then dial up speeds. This is not even close to the "high speed" I signed up for.
I called to get this situation rectified and spent the entire day trying to deal with the once again incompetent staff. I was fed lines such as " we offer service UP To 5mbps and the 30kbps is perfectly fine! After hearing that form a customer service manager it was the last straw, as son as I heard that BS line I went from giving bell a chance to make this right, to cancelling my service.
So now I was trying to cancel my account as bell has no longer abiding by their own contract to offer me unlimited high-speed. I spoke with many managers and customer service people and they all told me that nothing in my plan has changed, I was still getting unlimited high-speed... They were all speechless when I explained to them that they have changed and I am NOT getting high-speed anymore. The attitude of their customer service supervisors was horrible to say the least. Even though they had nothing to say when they realised I proved them to be in breach of contract they still tried to tell me I would have to pay a $100.00 cancellation fee. I finally got them to cancel my service and wave the 100.00 deactivation fee. It took all day on the phone though. 8hrs dealing with Bell and literally nothing to show from it except more anger towards bell as an entire company.
As soon as my contract with the TV is up I will be cancelling all my services with bell, and for the simple $100.00 cancellation fee they tried to get out of me, they will be loosing 2x that per month after I cancel my services.
It's not the fact that they decided to throttle my account, but the fact that they broke my contract and the managers at bell had the nerve to lie to my face saying nothing has changed, and pretty much tough luck. This is the reason I will be cancelling all my services as soon as the contracts are up.
I hope others will follow suit and show Bell that as a 13 year customer I deserve to be treated much better then this. And when BELL breaks their contract, I deserve to cancel and not be held to a contract that bell has already broke.
Because I had to waste my entire day trying to cancel a service I no longer wanted due to the fact that BELL broke their contract (no longer high-speed), and for the 100.00 cancellation they tried to charge me, they will loose thousands of dollars in revenue from me as I will no longer be using any of bells services, not just internet.
Congrats bell for turning a long time happy customer to a very outraged customer in a matter of one day

| bell non-unlimited capped crap i to have recieved the same scam, they promised me unlimited on the new plan and have charged me 30$ extra 2 months in a row for additional bandwith. Now there charging me almsot 100$ month for CAPPED interenet, yes CAPPED, they capped it as of 3 days ago at 30kbs. I been getting top speed on my bell line for 7 yrs here, now all f a sudden im capped only on torrents at 30kbs and they refuse to admit its capped.
I to hope a bell rep is reading this, maybe they'll can think about people like me. I refer about 100-200 people I build pc's for to bell per yr.

| Sympatco lies. I was able to get them to admit they were throttling torrents.
One manager said to me that their high-speed is only advertised as "UP TO" 5Mbps and that 30Kbps was totally acceptable! I told him that it was slower then dial up speeds and had I known this was going to happen when I signed up I would have never signed. Bell changed my service therefore the contract is null and void and I should not have to pay the 100.00 cancellation fee. He said I did and that bell did not change anything. I can;t stand liars like that, admitting my line was called and then telling me they never changed anything.
Show them you are pissed and cancel your service like most of us here. Hey didn't care that I was a 13 year customer either.

| Re: Sympatco lies. i totally agree with u guys , i use to have a 5mbp connection till about a few weeks ago when i upgraded my internet to there new ''Total Interent Service''ever since i upgraded ive been having downloading/uploading problems,i should now be getting a 7mbp connection ,instead its never stable ,it goes up to 7bmp and after a few sec it drops to about 30-50kbs and stays there.The only way for me to get my speed back up to 7mbp is to reconnect the modem and then when i do so i get my 7mbp for another 30sec or so and it goes back to 30kbs. ive takled to bell about 100times in the last week , they tell me that im too fair away from the C0 when my neubor has the same internet connection(total internet-7mbp) and he is getting his speed at full,and for some reason im the only one thats getting my speed capped. I finally spoke to a tech person who knows whats going on and she told me that they are capping everyones internet so everyone can get the connection they deserve. but i do not believe that 30kbs is what i deserve when im paying them 50$ monthly,and what really pisses me off is how they keep telling me that there high speed is UP TO 7 mbp , so if its 30kbs its fine for them...wtf? so maybe ill switch as well | |

| Same thing happened to me !!! I almost though I had written this my self. I had the same plan and they did the same thing to me. Started charging me $90 (47.99+ 30 over usage+ tax) per month instead of 34.95. They had began to charge me more and cxapped my service without informing me.

ISN'T THAT ILLEGAL ???????? I would believe it is legal, but Bel, just lies, denys you were even on the 34.95 unlimited plan and pretty much says screw you... I would love to see someone with money take them to court over this or better yet a class action law suit. | |
