Numerous problems with Bell Sympatico have finally pushed me to look for alternatives. I finally decided to switch internet and phone to Anacac in Jan 2008. Now I can't believe how I sticked with Bell Sympatico for so long. But surprisingly even after I canceled Sympatico, it can still managed to give me headache -- Today, I noticed that they charged me for $100 early contract termination fee even though I was not in any contract with Bell!! I can't imagine I have to go through all the trouble again to deal with Bell still, after thinking that I got rid of Bell for good.
It's funny that I just read in the news that Bell is starting to offer new features such as voice mail to email for their phone to attract customers. But other companies like Acanac had these and many more features a long time ago for much cheaper price. Yes Acanac is VOIP, but I haven't notice any quality difference from land line yet. I guess many people are still naive enough to allow Bell to stay in business.
Update Feb 10, 2008: I posted this problem in Bell Sympatico Forum yesterday, which was a Saturday, and the problem was fixed today. I must say I'm really impressed with Bell's efficiency this time, much much better than I expected. Last time, a similar problem with my account took months to fix, and I was expecting the same this time. Maybe Bell is on the right track to improve.
