Hi, I have been with Bell Sympatico for over 4 years.
When I first got it, it was extremely poor. Connection was never stable. DSL disconnects every 10 minutes. When I call Sympatico, they keep telling me I am placing my modem too close to computer. So I moved it further away. Then they tell me my phone line is loose. That can't be right, because my phone works! THen they tell me to restart modem like 3 times. Still no luck. They told me several times that they have no idea what the problem was. After calling them about 10 times, repeating what I did above everytime, they finally told me that 'the card' was broken and they had to go fix it. After that was fixed I was a happy camper.
This satisfaction did NOT last very long. When Bell started throttling I was extremely unhappy. However, I did not complain. THEN one day, they called my father (knows not too much English) tricked him into extending the dsl contract. However, they have changed the contract from our previous one. However, they DID NOT send us the new one. They were suppose to send us an email w/ the contract and my dad was suppose to click accept and then send it back to them to confirm. BELL DID NO SUCH THING! They automatically renewed our contract WITH changes applied and they didnt even TELL US!
I only found this out when i was charged $30 for excess bandwidth! I was previously on unlimited. Now after my father got tricked they have throttled our connection and ALSO lowered our bandwidth to 60 gigs per month. I was extremely ANGRY with what they have done. I tried calling them to put me back to unlimited, but it was no use.
I guess I got ripped off for 1 year. I am currently planning to switch to 3rd party dsl provider. Their prices are FAIR, and from the reviews have excellent customer support! (You don't need to call in 10 times to get your problems fixed!)
Lastly, watch out, Bell always screws up on their Billings. Two three times I was charged doubled for no reason and took a COUPLE of PHONE CALLS to resolve it. This company is UNBELIEVABLE!
Notice on Bell's website, when you look at the different dsl they offer, they do not STATE that there is a 60 GBs CAP!
