Sympatico DSL on "Dry line" is very reliable, initial install was quick, router worked first time when plugged in. Service is never out. 5mbps profile provides adequate transfer speeds for most downloads and web browsing. Price is high, over $50/mo, but for reliability not too bad. Use line for voice over IP phone service as well - works reliably for that as well.

Never have had to call tech support. Called billing once to inquire about a price increase, didn't push issue as didn't want them to mess with my profile that still has "grandfathered" unlimited monthly cap (service ordered and installed in June 2006).

Speedstream 4200 router is good with port forwarding, additional static routes for use with VPN, etc.

    Price increase

It's nice to read that I wasn't the only person hit with a price increase. I took a look back through my bills and didn't see any mention of this either, which is frustrating.

The strange thing is (besides some connection issues when I moved a few years back) I have been relatively happy with Bell... the service has been reliable and I've never had a problem.

Like you, I don't really P2P too often, but I still like having the Grandfathered unlimited cap. In this day an age of seeing all the Bell prices being so much lower than my $50.00 / month, I just can't help but wonder if I can't get similar service for a little better price. Funny thing is, one of the only things holding me back is I have Bell Email addresses (knew I shoulda snapped up those Gmail names when I had the chance!)

    Anyways... nuff rambling.
