Ordering and having Sympatico service up and running is perhaps the best experience the provider provides (!). It is fast and easy. The current plan I have is 5M/800k and the connection is exactly that. It costs 46.00 CAD$ a month incluging taxes.
A lot of people are complaining about throttling but unless I`m wrong, it only occurs over Bit Torrent protocols that are unencrypted and I never felt a slow down.
I currently have my 3rd Bell Modem, a Speedstream 6250 modem/router/wifi access point combo.It works but the router capabilities are underwhelming. You can bypas it`s router functions and use it only as a modem - something I have yet to try.
Calling customer service is like a nightmare in which you scream and nobody hears. You want to wake up but can't.
When I enlisted with Bell there were a single other broadband option in Quebec City: Videotron and they had just made a mistake with my account I was not willing to excuse.
So I went with Sympatico. Now, some 6 or 7 years later and many frustrating calls to CSRs I am about to move, and I may leave Sympatico behind. As there is now several dsl/cable providers around.
