Speakeasy did their best to get my installation done as quickly as possible. However the poor communication between covad and Bell Atlantic caused my install to take 2 months. Covad stopped taking my calls, and bell atlantic is impossible to reach. BA's voicemail menu system is specifically designed to confuse and frustrate you, and eventually you will get hung up on, without ever having talked to a person. Bell atlantic is desperatly trying to hold on to an 80 year monopoly.

Letter I wrote today to speakeasy(6,12,2001):

I have been a customer for 2 years and in the last 6 months I have seen your customer service and technical asistance responce times degrade significantly. Today my dsl went down and I waited a 1/2 hour to talk to tech assist, and the recording said that there were ZERO people waiting ahead of me. Mike in technical assistance assured me that the problem was on my end because he could see the wan side of my bridge, I assured him the problem was not here and he transfered me to a level 2 tech, the automated system said that the wait time here would be ZERO minutes. Well I have been waiting the entire time that I have been typing this letter. I have a guarenteed service level agreement with you guys, and I would like to know if things are going to improve in the future or is the main focus of your company to bail out as many defunct dsl companies as possible until you youself can't possibly handle the amount of traffic you have chosen to accept. My service has magiclly just appeared, 56 minutes since I first called. PS I am still on hold, waiting for the LEVEL 2 technician with the ZERO wait time to wake up and answer the phone. Now I just curious to see how long it can possibly take. P.P.S I'm sending a copy of this to www.dslreports.com

    Bob
