I have had Verizon DSL for the past 2 years and enjoy the good service that they provide now. I use a D-Link DI-604 router so I do not have to worry about the PPPOE dial-up aspect of the connection. I have two computers networked to it and they both run fine surfing the net and playing games simultaneously. The only beef I have with Verizon is that I signed up when the 640/90 package was the basic service. They told me when they changed the basic to 768/128 that they would upgrade me. I have yet to see that upgrade in service and it has been a year since they said that.

Well here I am having had Verizon for about 3 years. I am upgraded to the new 1.5Mbit package for the lower price of $34/month. Verizon is being competitive towards the big presence that Comcast has in my town. Good. I would rather them do that so I can stay with Verizon rather than switch to Comcast.

Its been shaking for the past 6 months or more, but a major problem with my land lines was finally discovered and resolved. The DSL is back to previous solidarity.

Its been just over 5 years with Verizon DSL. Overall a wonderful experience. Have been progressively upgraded speed for just about the same price. It's great. Verizon knows how to play the market for the most part and keep the customer as happy as they can.

Still going strong with Verizon DSL 3Mbits/768.

Only major change that has happened really is the advent of FIOS. Yet to see it in the area, but I will be excited to submit a new review for their service once I can/do obtain it.

    Competitive / Dry-Loop / Service Tying

Wish Verizon would be competitive with Comcast in my area. But by the time you are forced to buy phone service in order to get DSL the price is more than Comcast HSI + basic cable, and for less bandwidth.

I told Verizon no more access to my wallet until they provide naked/dry-loop DSL or FiOS, and took my phone service strictly mobile with Cingular and internet business to Comcast.

Looking forward though to the day I can return to Verizon, but I still encourage everyone who is fed up with Verizon forcing them to buy phone service they don't want or need ,just so they can have DSL, to put the pressure on Verizon by taking your business elsewhere till Verizon uncouples these two services which are not technologically interdependent.

    Verizon FiOS and TV

I had Verizon DSL for a year or two, it was so stable and much faster then the phone line internet. Then I got the Cox cable. Yeah, it is fast but the signal is unstable. It dropped from time to time. Then I got the Verizon FiOS internet. I compared the FiOS with the Cox cable, 5Mbps/2Mbps vs. 15Mbps/2Mbps. FiOS won! The Speakeasy test shows that the FiOS 5Mbps/2Mbps with the bandwidth at 5.2Mbps/1.89Mbps. whereas, the Cox cable was tested with Speakeasy, the test result was 8-10Mbps/1.5Mbps. Cox bandwidth was too low to catch the FiOS speed. FiOS is also more stable then the Cox cable. Too bad Cox, I dropped you! I had the Cox cable TV. The signal was weak and the picture was fuzzy. Then I dropped it for FiOS TV, man! It is sharp! Just wish the Verizon drop the price so that more people can afford to use. Verizon, just remember that "volume sale" is always win!
