Order time was reasonable, and came with USB camera free ( which I can't use with win95) and modem. Followed directions on install date, and everything worked as promised.
Took a long time to get second email account approved and activated (1 month) as 4 are permitted.
Speeds are typical 512/128.
Immediately replaced the supplied modem with a 3Com OCR812 Router which works fine and allowed more than 1 PC as well as 802.11b server for laptops.
Installed january 2002 and all is still well in July 2002.
It's dynamic IP, but it only changes when the router reboots due to power failure, and I use free DYNIP service to easily have others refer to my IP whatever it is. Router uses PPPoE and never drops connection usually and keeps address for months at a time between reboots.

I've rotated in a 3Com 3CRWE754G72-A ADSL Wireless Firewall Router. All is happy, and I'm able to use the internet wirelessly across the whole house at high speeds.
Since my last update, Verizon has cut the price and increased the speed to 750/150. That's good.
I'm not thrilled about Verizon's blocking port 80 for web serving, but that's easily worked around. Also, many mail servers are becoming more astute on receiving email from Email servers on lines like this. This is good to reduce the spam out there, but bad since I'm trying to do just that (only without spam).
Update 5/25/06
Well, I've moved to a new house, and now get the 1.7 down and 600 up service. Indications are that's as fast as I can get given my distance to the CO.
I've been juggling my DSL routers around a bit since I work for a DSL router supplier, between the 3Com 3CRWE100A-72 and a soon to ship product, always with the same speeds and performance. I'm running a web server (on port 81 since Verizon blocks port 80 still), Email server, a number of wireless clients, and VOIP handset on my work phone number. All work quite well.
No customer support needed, except for during my move in 2005. During the move Verizon was easy to work with, as I was assigned a contact person for the move. There was a hiccup in that they shut off DSL in the old house 2 weeks before the move so I was out of service for a bit, but they filled the gap with free dial up, at no charge (for DSL or dialup) during that time.
I was able to keep all PPPoE username/pasword parameters the same in the new home so it was as easy as just plugging the device in at the new place and we were running.
So, still, overall, good reviews. I've never experienced outages, and it's reliable.

It still rocks. Even through the small price increases, and the times, Verizon DSL continues to be the best bargain for broadband available to me. FIOS has reached my town, and I've been heavily lobbied by Verizon to switch, but the increased price for the admittedly higher (and really currently unnecessary) speed isn't worth it yet. My price comparisons also involved switching over completely to Comcast TV/Phone/Video... and same story. I still have the most economical TV (Comcast) Internet (Verizon DSL) and Phone (Verizon) available. Consider, that I may be a power network user, but the 1.7mpbs download speed is really just fine for my needs.
Currently, Verizon doesn't offer their TV package in my town, and I've got 2 landline phone numbers/lines, which is a bit of a challenge to get the FIOS and Comcast guys to quote pricing for.
I'm going to a updgrade to digital TV shortly, and Comcast is currently the only way I can get it (besides OTA or Satellite).
