I had verizon awhile ago for DSL and the first time I had them, I'll admit they left a rotten taste in my mouth, I switched to earthlink and we wont even get in to what kind of taste earthlink left in my mouth. So I saw that verizon was offering 768/128 for a discounted rate of 34.95/month for having them as your local and long distance provider (which i do)plus the 1st month is free and the 2nd and 3rd is 29.95 so i said what the hell i'll give them a second chance. And I am glad I did. Them total time from order to install was only 5 days. I ordered Friday 9/13 and was up and running Wednesday 9/18. Speeds are a constant 690/132 which is great for the price. I had earthlink and yes I was getting 1300/300 but thats only when it worked. So all in all so far no problems, verizon rocks!!!
--UPDATE-- 5/16/03--
Well I am now only paying 29.99 under my package, I am supposed to be upgraded to the 1500/128 package as of this week, I am still at 709 down and 138 up, they said my line should be up to that speed on Monday. Overall I am still very happy and more happy now that I have the verizon with MSN8. Excellent for only 29.99, when cable charges 45.95 for 1500/256, big deal bigger uploads but same down, plus when I had cable I lost it frequently, my DSL never went down yet.

I am back with Verizon, under the 14.95 plan we decided to cut back on bills after we went back to comcast awhile back. Verizon may not be as fast as the cable but it is 30 bucks a month cheaper and more stable to me, I have had alot of sporadic outages lately and my wife and I both work from home doing online moderation and need a stable connection and as in the past Verizon delivers
