I got 2 Verizon DSL lines: 1 for my dad/mom, 1 for my fiancee house. Have not run into any problems yet (that's a good thing  ),
speed: =~ 1.3 mbps dl, 370kbps ul & 1.2 mbps dl, 375kbps ul. In Long Beach, CA and Bellflower, CA, respectively.
both lines got upgraded to 384kbps upload without any hassle like those forums.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with Verizon DSL
I didn't rate for their tech support because I've not call them yet. Will see how it goes
July 2 update: I've just bought a Belkin router + wirelessG PC card, configuration was a bit of problems. I didn't know which setup is right for our LAN, call up Verizon's tech support to find out if our connection is PPPoE or what not. Hold up time was almost 20 mintues, tech support level 1 (I think) was quite good, a quick explaination and my problems was solved. He even walk me through the whole process + the suggestion to update to the lastest firmware of my router + wireless card. How to open certain ports for applications (mIRC, Bittorent etcs...), secured wireless LAN. It's far beyon my expectation for Verizon techs . For now, tech supports is rated 5/5
March 31, 2005 update
call up billing for the higher speed upgrade, got it after 12 hours
overall after almost a year with Verizon, I'm very please with their service.

We just move to oxnard, CA. A small city lies north west of Los Angles. The best speed I can get from Verizon in this area is 1.5/348, not 3.0/768 . I'm really dissapointed ....thinking about switching my ISP to Aldephia Cable in the next few days. oh well

Almost a year in Oxnard, I've never experienced any disconnection nor outage. That's pretty good. Speed is always at 1400+ / 300+
I've played some online games like 9dragons, 2moons, JX2 online etcs....and it's lagging like #$%^, my latency mostly range from 200-600ms especially JX2 since it's based in Malaysia server.
I'm looking for a new ISP with low latency, anyone in Ventura county can help me out ? Thanks in advance

I''m back staying at my wife's parent house to save some money now.
Have been with Verizon since 2003, my 2 years deal 29.99 per month 3.0/768 plan is about to expire in April. I'm thinking about switch over to DSLEXTREME unless Verizon has some kind of promotion that can keep me stay longer with them.
Overall I'm very satisfy with their service for the past couple years
