    I still own a home in NYC (inherited) and have DSL and basic dial tone with VZ. I move every year so keep that home till I can triple my money. I will FIOS it when it comes available. Yeah, right in NYC.

    Cable HSI is horrible in NYC.

    VZ isn't that bad once it works. It was supposed to take 5 days but took 15 days. Call in your order. They lost my on-line one (Jan. 06). Modem was free after rebate with 1 year contract. I wish it could be put on hold while not there (only there a month out of the year--have house sitter). But, house sitter is a college student and lives there for free. She uses the DSL so no problem. I have the 6/700 plan. It gets about 5.9/800 service so good. Had to change DSL modem 3 times over past year. Last worked great.
