    My Other Reviews·Comcast
    ·Comcast Formerly ..
I shopped for 2 weeks, gathering prices and information. Why did it take so long?
Because customer service for both Comcast and Verizon sucks badly. With both companies, you can get a person who knows it all and is willing to help you and then call back a moment later and get someone who is dumber than a rock.
Verizon is definitely suffering more than Comcast. Wait times are normally up to 15 minutes long and then the people you reached are rushed and make you rush too.
They give you a "local number" to call for CS and I found myself across the country on each call. (st. louis and Florida)
I'll stay with them now just because of the deal I got and freebie's they threw in but once the contract is u, I'm shopping again and they better do a better job next time.
If you have low blood pressure and can stand the stress, switching to Verizon might be a good idea to save money but if you stress easily, avoid them altogether. Their CS is the worse I have ever seen with any company

One year update: As I approached the time for our one year term to end, I started shopping and saw that nothing has changed with Verizon CS. They basically don't seem to care. I asked plenty of questions, they took notes, then the gal said we'll pass you along to our retention dept and after sitting on hold for 47 minutes, I hung up. Then emailed CS and told them if they wanted to retain my business, they can call me. Waited 2 days, no calls. Called Comcast, they made me a great offer and their CS has improved or at least seem to for this call. Verizon is gone and I doubt I'll ever be back.
To Verizon Executives, get your house in order. Your CS dept sucks

    12/26/2008 update:

Comcast sucks so badly in our area I came back to Verizon and glad I did. They have worked hard on their CS since we last left. I am happy with that and connection. I even dumped comcast TV and Verizon has all of my servcies.

    1/23/2009 update:

New speed (7.1) is very nice. Haven't had ONE connection issue since switching back. Comcast called and blamed their troubles on upgrades in our area. Funny thing, a week later, CS Supervisor calls and says they plan on doing upgrades in our area later this year to improve service. Said it's been quite a while since they've upgraded our area. HMMMMMMMM....who do I believe?

wow I cant find people on this blog with the same frustration I got with them so hold on to your hats:
I ordered a service that took them a month to deliver to my home. patetic
that by it self is repugnant for any self proclaimed local industry leader.
You know how they call them selves the network? Since they messed me up I discovered that their network is as well connected as two empty cans in peoples hears linked by a shoe string. They do not know what the other is doing how it was done or how to undo it. In most cases I found out that they are robotic in a broken protocol that they do not listen to you. what ever your issue you must dial 2 kind of a thing. I have spent about 3 days totaling all the hours on the phone keeping those idiots from making things worse. I even had to protect my self from verizon it self. I will not let them jack up something that took me and the last person on the phone hours to resolve.
The real thing that made things increasingly aggrevating was finding my self in India on the phone with verizon. Why India because it is 10 cheaper for verizon....for verizon 10 times cheaper. For you and me however it is so expensive..the price of customer service has been passed on to you and me about 6 or 7 times more expensive. The indians really have the best jobs there if they hold a phone in behalf of an american company. But now you have to put up with something that is going to take 7 times longer, the contact is just not welcoming is too different, you are not talking to wendy you are talking to halem gupta or something. Our cultures differences are just to large for welcoming exchange. The accent can be uncomprehensible too. they will reharse repeat everything. so gettin to business will take an eternity No real resolution is ever achieved because they have no authority. You will never speak to a supervisor to get something done because they will never transfer you to one. and then avoid being transfered to other departments because often they send you to a place where the number dead and you have to start all over with another indian No wonder they are told to think of us as 10 year old IQs. They made us too upset. So here is their network, an automated system dial 2 dial to that is so so so frustrating only to send you to, India, then broken system among themselves not just india but all of verizon,
and some good people in the States. It really is like an old commercial on tv.
the network that they show on tv next to another network that was mostly cardboard life size pictures of verizon network people. We've been sold the fake network it does not exist. Now we have to pay the price with our time, tempers, stress, patience, frustration, money, dissatisfaction, complaints and lack of resolutions HEY VERIZON CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW ?

    I hope so

You would be credible if you wrote better English. I wasted time out of my life reading your post and trying to decipher what you are trying to say. The funny thing is, this blog even has a spell check but you did not bother using it.
