About 1 week from order until my line was setup at the CO to be ready for DSL. Had a SNAFU on the line coming to my house somewhere on the street, Tech came out installed a whole house filter in the network interface, and repaired the line in the street.
I purchased 1.5down/384 up and am getting 1400 down and 350's up
Cable got to be to expensive, normal web surfing is the same downloads are only slightly slower compared to cable.
Overall happy will update in a month.
Update around June 2008 to present. Several problems have been happing recently causing to drop connection multiple times. 7 calls to tech support and 3 techs coming on-site to 'fix' the problem it is still broken.
Basically every time it rains in the area the modem will randomly loose connection ranging from several seconds to minutes and even hours at a time. This is completely random and happens multiple times when it rains.
7-21-08 the last verizon tech who came to the house, performed line tests from the house, to the pole, to the large network box at the end of the street all the way down to the co. He told me everything was working fine at the time, i stated again yes, yes it is because it's NOT RAINING OUT. He said well if it aint broke i can't fix it.
One final call to tech support on 7-22-08 advising them of the problem still being there. I said it no longer needs to be fixed as i will be canceling service in 1 week.
Service canceled after numerous problems. Current Service Comcast High Speed internet
