Just Edited March 12 -08: Removed a small portion, I'm still happy with the service. The only difference is the plans were changed. Very reliable for my family and I esp when doing work remote {Electronics Entrepreneur}.

Edit: I now use westell proline with my own router. The modem is good my router has good and bad days.

The review was asked by my membership at dslreports. Forgive me, I don't have talent writing but hope you still understand me. I'll try to stick to the proctored questions text on the left to help me out.

We had considered Cable on and off at times but stuck with Verizon. Verizon has given us contracts, which allowed us to pay a good price. For over 4+ years sometimes fair month to month pricing other times promotional offers. They last normally for a full year. When we got Verizon DSL the equipment sent was a westell 2100, bridged modem. At the time only used one computer and all was great. The second model was the free versalink327w modem with a promotion offer. The modem was not that great, they changed it two times and now upgraded the firmware for it. We payed for an actiontec product with them but went back to versalink recently. With the new firmware connection seems better.

The first package we ordered was the 768 / 654 [drift off topic] or so plan from Verizon Online. So we have lived through various changes such as updated: »dslstart.verizon.net page. Starting from the snap? nbc? portal to the current "surround" one. They used to give a cool piece of software in my opinion as a bonus. It was called the controlpad. The first version was the best from the bunch. [/drift back on topic] The second plan we went with was the 3mB / 864. The orders as far as remember from start of days till now were very prompt. We did cause some problems causing the system to go into panic.

The good is the connection is generally "stable" as if up. Their are bumps for seconds sometimes all of a sudden. Dealt with the tech service people and they range from actually speaking without reading. Or asking questions based on premade material. This one guy tried to actually memorize the whole situation. To explain and understand the issue. The last contract was for a biz that I have started. But I have moved now the servers to Canada to have it hosted for me.
