Have been with Verizon for over a year now.
Setup process was easy, technician listened to my directions (tagging the line), and left me with his phone number.

I have never had to call that phone number, nor support. The line has a 100% uptime for the year. That's right, ZERO downtime.

Due to the distance from the Central Office, my line stays at a steady 10Mbps/1Mbps (versus the top 15Mbps/1.5Mbps)

Verizon is the only player around here (Santa Cruz County, Santa Cruz Mountains) though there are a couple WISPs that are very expensive and have low caps.

I pay for the DSL + Unlimited Calling, total cost with tax is about $75

Comcast is over in Santa Clara county, sometimes I do wish they serviced my residence (50Mbps would be nice), but the low latency and reliable connection from Verizon is suffice.

I have now ordered a second, DRY DSL line from DSLExtreme(Verizon wholesaler) -- and that too has been flawless
