I have had Verizon DSL in Erie for a little better then ten years now. I just now found DSLreports.com while researching some other things.
I am on the extreme end of DSL availability here in Erie, but overall, Verizon gives me good service. We have a lot of older copper lines and "rag-bag" junction boxes (line mounted junction points are just wrapped in a cloth bag) so a heavy rain or snow storm can slow speeds down until things dry out.
The "Virtual Assistant" is not real useful... if the automated repair process does not fix the problem, you need to dig out a human assistant.
A small annoyance is the fact Verizon continually gives incentives to NEW customers, but never cuts their long-time customers a break.
Bottom line: here in Erie the service is pretty good for the monthly fee.
