(ratings match consensus)

I have had BS fastaccess since June of 2000. It was a reletively new service back then, but I experienced only a few bumps at the start. The advertised speed is 1.5Mbps down/upload 256Kbps. My speed stays steady at about 1200/218. Most of the trouble I had was related to the USB modem I started out with. That was rectified when I switched to a more reliable ethernet Modem.

It is the only option I have in this area until Comcast installs around here but considering the little downtime I have experienced, I will most likely stick with Bellsouth.

    Update: 6/21/2004

I recently upgraded to Xtreme DSL with Bellsouth. It was a smooth transition. They first upgraded me to a static IP and days later upgraded to 3.0Mbps Down/upload 385Kbps. My speed is steady at 2450/320. I haven't had any noticable problems.

    Update: 6/19/2009

It's been a while since my last BS update. Well, can't call it BS anymore since AT&T took over. Nonetheless, a few things have changed since my last review. I moved, but only a mile and a half from my previous address. I'm now a little farther from the CO but not considerably. The connection has been reliable except for a few weeks where my connection was flapping on and off. Team BS did have some trouble finding the problem but ultimately did correct the issue. They were persistent and the link has been reliable ever since. Unfortunately, I cannot upgrade to 6 Mbps since this area cannot handle it. Not sure how long before AT&T upgrades the phone lines in my neighborhood.
