I initially ordered 1.5MB service before it was actually available in my area. On the day after I was told that the DSLAM would be turned up, my order was worked and I got service. The self install kit arrived 2 weeks before my order was due and I was up and going within 15 minutes of my order being worked..
When the 3MB service became available I ordered it and it was turned on during the early morning hours of the promised due date.
I have had nothing but good service from Bellsouth and have no qualms about transferring my service from Charter to them.
I've been on 6 meg service now since it was available in my area and it has been rock solid at about 6.4 megs except for one exception, telephone workers accidentally cutting in a bridgetap on my line. I dropped to 5 megs for a day or so until this was cleared up.

Speakeasy test results usually average close to the below test.

Download Speed: 6688 kbps (836 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 421 kbps (52.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

It's now almost a year later and I have only had one problem in the past year and that was a solid short on the outside line that dropped the speed down, but still didn't kick me off. I'm now using a Netopia 3347NWG and it's been rock solid also. The only other speed problems I've experienced is moving to Vista. For some reason, my speeds have dropped slightly, but still in the 6100 kbps range.

    A year later.....
It's still rocking along and still not one outage. There has actually been a couple of DNS outages, but since I use opendns as my primary DNS provider, I skipped those outages.
