I have had Comcast for the last year because i was a wireless substitutor, and decided to switch back to DSL for a few reasons, including frequent dropped connections. Installation was seamless; i arrived home on my due date, connected my modem & was all sync'd up, raring to go immediately. I got DSL Extreme 6.0 with my old Westell wirespeed modem. Have no complaints at all so far, everything running the way it should be.
