    My Other Reviews·AT&T DSL Service
In my opinion AT&T is the only choice in my area. Time Warner was the cable before being bought by Comcast many years ago. Comcast is awful. The HSI is sketchy. The TV reception labors at times. I have not and will not try the voice.

My main problem with AT&T is that I can only get 1.5M. I do not live in the sticks. I live right off the Interstate in a pretty populated area (neighborhoods, businesses, etc...)

AT&T's wireless service in my area is way behind the Verizon (formally ALLTEL) network. So I lose that as a bundle discount opportunity. Also DirecTV does not have locals in my area. So I lose yet another bundle discount opportunity.

Can't get above 1.5 meg here either.

Even though they offer up to 3 meg speeds on the site, my DSL line wouldn't sync anywhere past 3200 or so during the summer, and during the winter, I was lucky to get 3552.. at a 6 db SNR. Needless to say, sync would hold for maybe 3 minutes at such a sync rate. I also live in a populated area, but my neighborhood uses 26 ga wiring and the technicians literally laugh when I ask if this place will be upgraded sooner or later.

I was told by a few technicians that my line is simply too long. They shouldn't tease me with higher services that my line cannot support. 1.5, plus with the overhead data, is simply too slow for more than one user in my home. How dare they tease me with Extreme 3.0 support for my line!

I ended up switching to CableOne for that reason. They're pricey and not as fast as Comcast's services (5 mbit on their standard package), but I've only had one outage with them all summer.
