Update 01-13-2008... I thought it was time to give my thanks to everyone at AT&T/ DSL Division from everyone who works the back offices @ATT Direct, to the Sync Techs and Cable Techs... Last week we had a very bad storm and for the first time this type of storm did in both my Data line and my Land line (telephone)..So after having this bad feeling of seeing my modem internet signal keep blinking knowing that this only means one thing... something is wrong with my LINE and nothing I can do about it... After talking to the ATT rep on the phone and having no problem getting to talk to the people at ATT who work on the lines, I was pretty sure it was only a matter of time before this was fixed...

There was one hang up that no one would know about until it stopped and started raining again... To make this short, my line was messed up but I could tell when it was raining,,, Because the first time after it rained and dried up all was OK... The next time it rained I lost sync again, I knew I had a bigger problem... I called ATT and with 24 hours all was fixed... That's right that storm did something to my line and as I found out a day later another user down the street had a problem too...

Going on 8 years with Ameritech,SBC, SBC/Yahoo, and now AT&T and I'm sure a few other initials I forgot about and things are still going strong... This is only my 2nd problem since that crazy summer of 2000... Thanks, AT&T... not bad for 34.95 a month for 6mb down/768 kbps up...

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------

Update; 05-24-2006... Just upgraded to the AT&T DSL 'Elite Package' now for $27 for a year, not sure what I'll be paying next year but can not be more than $39... I run ~5Mbps down and ~650 kbps up... Can't beat it... Anytime you have a problem with phone support, go directly to BBr's SBC Direct forum and usually within a short period of time all is well (short period of time my be a week to 5 minutes )... Just like what happened with me, '5 min' ... I wish more ppl knew about this wonderful forum because they make things happened due to the fact that they are up to date and KNOW how to get things DONE...Again thanks to all at At&t/Sbc Direct forum ,,, I recommend At&t/Sbc to all for the price and they have the speed package for your needs...

Update; 11-21-2003 ... Early Fall changed over from UL (direct data line) to LS ( DSL line share with voice)...No problems at all... Did have great help from the on line 'SBC techs' that hang out in SBC/Yahoo-A'tech forum, two of them being Beatmeup and Annonamoose the department they work in is called Emerging Products Center ...Besides keeping the same speeds ~1300kbps down and 210kbps up @ $20 less...$29 for the next year...SBC/Yahoo seems to be doing the right things, thanks and keep it up...I've noticed some users with problems...They should checkout the SBC/Yahoo forum here @ BBr...Some of the BEST help I've seen...Again if having a problem join us...

Update; 1-28-2003...Ameritech now SBC/Yahoo...Just made the migration to

SBC/Yahoo and all seems to have gone well...What am I taking about...?... Ameritech now SBC joined Yahoo...And this week we were told to make the transition, I mean migration as they call it...Actually all went well my speed and E mail has stayed the same and you don't have to D/L the Yahoo stuff' if you don't want it... Many thought we may have to...In Fact I like the new Yahoo Home page, have heard that there may be some web bugs in it but that's for another update...Again Ameritech now SBC/Yahoo seems to be doing an OK job...There have been some problems but hear they should be cleared up soon...The support has never been to good but these last few months the forum support here at BBr is GREAT...SBC/Yahoo has at least three SBC techs in forum helping and they're doing a wonderful job...Only problem I can see and this isn't for anyone new...At one time Ameritech installed DSL by using a dedicated line called an UL...The bad news is that us older users with these will lose them in the near future...And the problem some of us have is that we can not use LS/Lineshare...Others will not be able to be serviced with LS...So this could be problem...Again for another update...

I've had SBC Ameritech going on three years...And have to say they are trying to improve things and have...I'm not saying all is fixed, but at least they're trying and have become pretty reliable...There new 1500/250 plan for $59.95 is something they have needed...And I average 1280/245...I'm glad I stayed with SBC/A'tech and hope they continue to improve...
